Newtown Continuing Education announced it has limited openings available in the following classes. Contact Newtown Continuing Education at 203-426-1787 for further information or to express interest in a program.

Investing 101 — One-time class on Wednesday, October 14; cost is $29. The class will explore basic tools to take control of the individual’s financial future.

Roadmap to Medicare — One-time class on Wednesday, October 21; $29. For those who are planning to get Medicare or those with family approaching age 65, the course will help make important decisions regarding Medicare and related medical-dental-vision insurance decisions. The course will share information about Medicare Part A, B and D, supplements and advantage plans, red-white-blue books, and more terminology. The course will also help attendees understand local resources that can help.

Female Sexuality Naturally — Monday, October 26; $20. Dr Elena Sokolova will start the class with a brief review of female physiology and hormones. Students will learn how hormones are affected by modern life style, stress, sleep deprivation, toxic chemicals, and wrong foods. Students will also learn about the symptoms and effects of female hormone imbalances. Natural ways to manage stress will also be discussed. Students will learn about new natural therapies as well as “time tested” winners in restoring women’s health and sexuality.

The Importance of Wills and Life Planning Documents — Wednesday, October 28; $29. The course will go over the terms living will, durable power of attorney (POA), health care directive and proxy, revocable and irrevocable trusts, Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders, and more.

Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement — A three-class course starting Wednesday, October 28; $29, plus a $30 materials fee payable to the instructor at the first class.With financial independence, retirement can be the most fulfilling time of life. This class will cover important money management concepts and issues that are valuable to people near or at retirement. Topics include how to reduce pressures on retirement income and which assets are appropriate for retirement income.

The Basics of Quickbooks for Your Office — A four-class course starting on November 2; $99. The course will cover the key features of the highly popular business finance software. Income and expense tracking, checkbook management, credit card usage, liability accounts, customer lists, vendor lists, invoicing, and business reports are among the topics that will be covered by the course.
