To the Editor:

As a 47-year resident of Newtown, I found it unsettling to read the front page of the May 8th issue of The Newtown Bee.  Nancy Crevier's outstanding article about three WWII heroes made my heart sing.  However, the article about the shame brought upon our police department by two of their officers made me very upset.

Giving years of their youth to their country so we could all be free didn't mean that we can then, for our own gain, go about destroying what they fought for.  We are free to make choices – Great!  But do we make the choices that bring our society to the lowest of levels?

'nuff said.
