Two Charges

Newtown police said that on the afternoon of March 27, they went to Waterbury to find Renneisha Coleman, 28, a resident of that city, to serve an arrest warrant against her. Police said they arrested Coleman on a charge of second-degree failure to appear in court.

Newtown police said they then learned that Bridgeport police also held a warrant for Coleman on the same charge stemming from a separate incident. Newtown police then arrested Coleman on another charge of second-degree failure to appear in court.

Newtown police said they held Coleman on $4,500 bail on the two charges for a March 28 appearance in Connecticut Superior Court in Danbury.

Warrant

Police report that they executed an arrest warrant about 1:30 pm on March 26, charging Nicole Brooks, 35, of Newtown, at her residence with second-degree failure to appear in court stemming from an original incident in Monroe.

After arrest processing, Brooks posted $495 bail for an April 11 appearance in Connecticut Superior Court in Bridgeport.

Three Violations

Police report that at about 12:15 pm on March 22, they stopped a motorist to investigate at the Exit 11 on-ramp for Interstate 84 in Sandy Hook.

Police said they charged motorist Robert Kryzwick, 62, of Seymour, with failure to display marker plates, failure to have automotive insurance, and driving while under suspension. Police released Kryzwick for an April 9 appearance in Connecticut Superior Court in Danbury.

Hit By Cargo

State police said that Lirio Serafim-DeSouza, 52, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV westward on Interstate 84, east of Exit 11, at about 4:49 pm on March 21, when a piece of wooden cargo that the Chevrolet was carrying fell off its roof and then struck the front end of a nearby 2017 Audi vehicle driven by motorist Christoph Nowak, 51.

There were no injuries. Serafim-DeSouza received an infraction for driving with an unsecured load.

Sedan Hits Truck

About 2:30 pm on March 20, on westbound Interstate 84, near Exit 9, motorist Jason Rossiter, 30, of Roxbury, who was driving a 2015 Ford Taurus sedan, made an unsafe land change and then struck a 2004 Kenworth truck driven by Benjamin Cook, 32, of Woodleaf, N.C., state police said.

There were no injuries. Rossiter received an infraction for making an unsafe lane change.

Collision

Police report that at about 3:44 pm on March 19 on South Main Street, near its intersection with Bryan Lane, a 2007 Toyota Camry sedan driven by Brittany Cerminara, 31, of Newtown, and a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Robert Cedergren, 57, of Bridgeport, were both traveling northward.

The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Cerminara for unsafe passing on the right.
