The Newtown based company, Connectologie, LLC, recently announced the creation of a $2,500 Kidologie Scholarship to be awarded to a graduating 2015 Newtown High School senior.

The money will be raised from admission ticket sales at the company’s 3rd Annual Kidologie Gets Ready for Summer event, taking place at Reed Intermediate School on Sunday, March 15, from 11 am to 3 pm.

Kidologie premiere children’s events produced by Connectologie LLC, are community fairs for kids of all ages and their caregivers. The Newtown event will spotlight more than 70 family-oriented exhibitors from the area representing an array of products and services for children offering information and free hands-on activities. In addition, there will be live entertainment, free goody bags filled with samples and treats, giveaways, including a family vacation to Woodloch Resort, and more.

This year’s 3rd Annual Kidologie Gets Ready for Summer event is expected to attract more than 1,600 attendees. Admission is $20 per family.

“Since its inception in 2012, Kidologie has been giving back to the community by selecting a local nonprofit organization to benefit from each of its events,” said Kidologie Founding Partner Lisa Agresta. “The goal is to help create increased awareness about the nonprofit through Kidologie’s marketing and trusted community voice as well as making a monetary contribution to the organization from a portion of the event’s proceeds. In the past Kidologie has worked with causes such as The Newtown Memorial Fund, EverWonder Children’s Museum, and Ann’s Place.”

Ms Agresta said this year Kidologie decided to do something different and decided to create the scholarship fund.

“Anyone who personally knows myself and my business partner Geetha Selva knows how important education is to us and our families. This scholarship fund really hits home,” said Ms Agresta.

The $2,500 Kidologie Scholarship for Community Minded Students will be awarded to a graduating 2015 Newtown High School senior. Applicants will show involvement with community services with NHS and/or the community, including the greater Danbury area.

Criteria for the scholarship will include writing an essay describing what inspired the applicant to be involved in the community and how the student’s efforts have had an impact on the individual’s life and the lives of others.

The scholarship recipient will be selected by a scholarship committee, which includes faculty and staff at NHS.

The scholarship application is available through the Career Center at NHS.

The recipient will be at the 3rd Annual Kidologie Gets Ready for Summer event for the community to meet him or her.

“This emerging partnership with Connectologie LLC represents everything that is right with local business entities and our schools,” Superintendent of Schools Joseph V. Erardi, Jr, said. “Through their decisionmaking to support Newtown schools we are one step closer to making a difference in the lives of every student. On behalf of the 5,000 youngsters we are privileged to educate, we thank and applaud this extraordinary gift.”
