Failure To Appear

At about 7:30 am on April 2, Roger Hendricks, 45, of Bridgeport went to the police station after having learned that police held a warrant for his arrest.

Police then charged Hendricks with second-degree failure to appear in court. The original charge in the case stems from a 2018 traffic stop that they made on Hendricks. Hendricks was held on $500 bail for a same-day court appearance.

Violation of Probation

Police report that Khadijah Cam, 24, of Waterbury, went to the police station on the evening of April 1 after learning that police held a warrant for her arrest. Police then charged Cam with violation of probation in connection with a past offense.

After having learned of an alleged probation violation, Cam’s probation officer reported it to the court and a judge then issued the warrant for her arrest, police said. Cam posted $25,000 surety bail and was then released for an April 11 court appearance.

Warrant

Police report that after learning that they held a warrant for his arrest, Sean Sullivan, 39, of Derby, went to the police station on the afternoon of April 1 and was charged with second-degree failure to appear in court.

The charge stems from police having issued Sullivan two motor vehicle violations on December 16, 2018. Sullivan has pleaded not guilty to both offenses. After he posted $500 bail, Sullivan was released for an April 18 court appearance.

Accident/DUI

Police report that motorist Kaitlinanne Victoria Mattia, 18, of Brookfield was driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee SUV westward on Mount Pleasant Road about 10 pm on March 31 near Newtown Power Equipment and then negotiated a slight curve in the road to the left but crossed over into the eastbound travel lane.

The Jeep then drove off the eastbound road shoulder, climbed an embankment, struck a tree head-on, and then hit another tree, according to police. Mattia kept driving alongside the road until the Jeep struck a curbside mailbox, police said.

Police said there were no injuries. After investigating, police charged Mattia with driving under the influence, failure to maintain the travel lane, and making a restricted turn. After arrest processing, police released Mattia on $100 bail for an April 16 arraignment on the charges in Connecticut Superior Court in Danbury.

Asleep At The Wheel

State police report that at about 11:32 pm on March 31, motorist Christopher Waddell, 21, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2001 Hyundai Elantra auto westward on Interstate 84, about one-half mile east of Exit 9, fell asleep at the wheel, after which the vehicle drove off the right road shoulder and rolled over.

The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Waddell to Danbury Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Waddell received an infraction for failure to drive in the proper lane.

Warrant

Police said they arrested Amy Kennedy, 44, of Sandy Hook, on a warrant on the night of March 29, charging her with failure to respond to an infraction. In May 2018, Kennedy had received an infraction for failure to comply with dog ownership requirements but had not responded to that violation. After processing on March 29, police released Kennedy on $500 bail for an April 16 appearance in Connecticut Superior Court in Danbury.

Warrant Executed

On the evening of March 29, police went to her residence and arrested Kristen Dimaria, 34, of Sandy Hook, on a warrant, charging her with second-degree failure to appear in court. The arrest stems from an original charge involving an alleged motor vehicle violation in Brookfield in November 2018, to which Dimaria has pleaded not guilty.

After processing, police released Dimaria on $500 bail for an April 16 court appearance.

DUI Incident

Police report they were dispatched about 11:20 am on March 25 to a Sandy Hook residence for a health and welfare check because a man who lives there had left the care of Danbury Hospital unannounced.

Police said they saw the man in question drive into his driveway, after which they investigated and charged motorist John Swaim, 48, with driving under the influence. Police said Swaim’s blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit. Following arrest processing, police released Swaim for an April 11 court appearance.

Car Vs Tree

State police report motorist Bridget Gilgallon, 24, of Scranton, Penn., who was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra auto eastward on Interstate 84 about 7:23 pm on March 25, lost control of the auto, drove off the right road shoulder, and then struck a tree near Exit 10.

There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
