Energetic And Engaged
Energetic And Engaged
To the Editor:
Newtown has had its share of fine political leaders over the years. I write in support of Chris Lyddy for state representative, who I believe will continue that tradition. No wonder that in the last election Chris Lyddy secured the most votes out of all 26 council candidates. No wonder over the past 20 years I have known Chris and his family, I have never heard a single negative comment about him. Even before he was elected to the council, Chris provided compassionate leadership to our community in various capacities and has always looked to better our town.
I believe Chris Lyddy is who we need to represent us as our state representative in Hartford. We need an energetic representative who is engaged in our community; a representative who is forthcoming with information and who enjoys interacting with constituents on various levels. Chris not only does this because it is his responsibility as an elected official, he does it because he is passionate about service and making sure that the issues are brought forth and discussed.
A short note about Chris that you may not know: As a freshman at Newtown High School, Chris was a superb student and talented athlete. A serious injury ended his athletic play; however, without skipping a beat, he altered his goals and vowed to devote his time to our community. You have read in the past several weeks of all the time and effort Chris has devoted to many groups and organizations in Newtown for several years now. This enthusiastic versatility and commitment to others not only defines Chris as an outstanding human being, but continues to earn him the respect of all that meet and work with him today.
Iâm proud to support Chris Lyddy for state representative and hope you will join me in electing him this November. You can learn more about Chris by visiting his website, www.ChrisLyddy.com
Thank you.
