Newtown Continuing Education announced it has limited openings available in the following classes. Contact Newtown Continuing Education at 203-426-1787 for further information or to express interest in a program.

Creative Jewelry — A one-class course being offered on October 6 for $39. Coursegoers will learn to design and make their own unique jewelry. Students will design and make bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. A materials fee of $10 is payable to the instructor at the start of class.

Fused Glass Jewelry — A two-class course starting October 7, $69. Students will learn the ancient art of glass fusing. No experience necessary. Students will design hand cut or precut pieces of glass to create their own dynamic pendants, cabochons, earrings, or components. Materials are included for projects designed within the scope of the class.

Beginner Knitting — An eight-class course starting on October 7, $125. Students will learn to knit, a hobby that can be transported with them and can be done in snippets of time. The course will help students starting out or those who need to brush up on the basics. Students will need to bring a skein of bulky-weight yarn and a pair of US size 10.5 or larger knitting needles to start.

Raising Your Positivity — A four-class course starting October 7, $69. The course strives to raise positivity through happiness, hope, joy, and many other upbeat emotions. According to the course description. this help to flourish in all areas of life. Students will learn what they can do to bring more happiness and greater fulfillment to their lives.

Windows 10 is Here! — A one-class course on October 7, $29. Microsoft is presenting Windows 10 as the last major release of Windows and it is currently available as a free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8 users. Come to this one night class for a demonstration and discussion of Windows 10 and see what is new and different.

How to Get Your Book on Amazon and Kindle — A one-class course on October 7, $39. The course will teach students how to get their book on Amazon and Kindle for free. They will learn how to open a free account, upload their book and cover, or create one with a template. Students will need to open a Kindle/Amazon account prior to this class. Accounts are free at amazonkdp.com.

Ballroom Dance — A four-class course starting on October 8, $99 per couple or $51 for a single. Joe and Nonni Williams have been dancing together for more than 20 years and teaching ballroom dance to all levels for 15 years. Their basic concept of ballroom dancing consists of having fun with easy to learn instructions. Couples and singles welcome.

Writing Memoirs and Personal Essays — A six-class course starting October 8, $79. Coursegoers will learn to record the transforming events of their life either in memoir form or with a short personal essay. This workshop will be about writing with an emphasis on craft.
