Mrs Lefferts accompanied her husband n many fly fishing trips and it was then that she discovered the natural beauty of and her inspiration from wildflowers. Her husband would fly fish in the stream and Mrs Lefferts would set up her paints and begin sketching whatever was in bloom at the time.

“There is something very awe-inspiring about sitting on a riverbank, listening to the water flow, and losing yourself in painting there perfectly beautiful wildflowers,” said Mrs Lefferts, who plans to include about a dozen of her paintings in the unnamed exhibition. The artist, her husband Mark, three teenage boys, and the family’s English setter, Buddy, live in Sandy Hook.
