âQuiltmakersâ Co-Author To Lecture In Woodbury
WOODBURY â Elizabeth Tishion, one of the authors of Quilts and Quiltmakers: Covering Connecticut, will present a program at 2 pm on Sunday, April 13, at Woodbury Town Hall. The program is being sponsored by Old Woodbury Historical Society.
Ms Tishion will present a display, show slides and talk about the history of quilting in Connecticut. She will also describe the research, data collection and documentation used by the Connecticut Quilt Search Project in their effort âto document and preserve historic of Connecticut quiltmakers.â
The result of this research is a wonderfully illustrated book which describes the lives of the quilters as well as their surroundings and events.
The program should be of interest to quilters, textile enthusiasts, historians and those who like to learn about the people who made these interesting artistic creations. The program is free. Simple refreshments will be available.
The town hall is on Main Street South/Route 6. Contact Johanna Holzbaur, 203-266-4880, for additional information.
