Ingersoll Auto of Danbury will be sponsoring one of the screenings of Queen of Katwe scheduled at Edmond Town Hall Theatre this weekend. The film will be featured November 18-23. Ingersoll Auto is sponsoring the 7 pm screening on Saturday, November 19.

The auto dealer and service center, owned by Todd Ingersoll of Newtown, has been offering at least one free screening each month since January 2013. The offer is first come, first served. Edmond Town Hall is at 45 Main Street.

Released in September, Queen of Katwe is a rags-to-riches tale based on the life story of Phiona (Madina Nalwanga), an impoverished 10-year-old Ugandan girl whose life changes when she meets Robert Katende (David Oyelowo), a missionary who teaches children how to play chess. Under his guidance Phiona becomes a top player.

Her success leads to international stardom, opening the door to a bright future. Queen of Katwe is rated PG, and has a running time of 2 hours, 4 minutes.

Screenings will be Friday and Saturday at 7 and 9:15 pm, then Sunday through Wednesday at 7 pm. Matinees will be Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday at 1 and 4 pm.

Tickets are $2 each.
