Danbury Woman Sexually Assaulted Off Taunton Lake Road

A Danbury woman reported to police at 12:10 am February 12 that she had been

sexually assaulted and robbed of money during an incident in a wooded area off

Taunton Lake Road.

Police said the woman told them she had accepted a ride in Danbury from a man

and was then driven to Newtown where the sexual assault occurred.

After the incident, the woman ran to a nearby home where she summoned police,

police said.

The unidentified woman was transported to Danbury Hospital where she was

treated and released, police said.

Newtown police said they called in the state police's major crime squad to

assist them in the investigation.
