CT Counselors is offering a free workshop entitled âMeeting Your Goals in 2007â on Thursday, January 25. The workshop will run from 7 until 8:30 pm at the practiceâs Newtown location, 27 Hawleyville Road.
Five counselors will co-lead the workshop, which will help participants address topics such as improving relationships, feeling more confident, setting boundaries with adults and children, managing weight, breaking bad habits, becoming more positive, managing stress, and reducing stress and anxiety.
Leading the workshop will be Jennifer Beller, LPC; Pat Heinzer, LCSW; Isobel McGrath, LADC; Karen Schaum, LPC; and Lorena Tesbir, LPC.
While the workshop is free of charge, space is limited so reservations are being requested. Call 270-9888 no later than Monday, January 22, to reserve a space.
CT Counselors is a private practice consisting of seven licensed and trained professional counselors and social workers. The counselors are trained in a wide variety of treatment modalities, and provide psychotherapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
The practice also offers group therapy. Some of the groups are ongoing open groups while others are specific workshop groups held periodically on topics such as improving self-esteem, communication, couples workshops, weight loss, and reducing anxiety.
Clinicians draw from a wide variety of treatment modalities and techniques. Members use psychodynamic therapy, systems theory, cognitive, behavioral, rational-emotive, relational, existential, and psychoanalysis, hypnosis, visualization and relaxation techniques. Staff members are from backgrounds that includes working within public schools as well private corporate work.
