The Wonderful World Of Owls

DERBY — The Naugatuck Valley Audubon Society, in cooperation with the Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP’s) Kellogg Environmental Center, will host a presentation called “The Wonderful of Owls” on Tuesday, October 16, at 7:30 pm.

Ken Elkins of Connecticut Audubon Society will be giving a talk on the interesting world of owls. The program is geared for children and adults.

Participants will be able to meet three or four live owls and observe special adaptations allowing them to become successful nocturnal predators. Mr Elkins will talk about owls common to Connecticut and owls on the endanger list in the state. He will also discuss how to help conserve them.

Kellogg Environmental Center is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue (off Route 34; watch for signs). A donation of $4 for adults and $2 for students is requested. For further information, directions or to register, call the environmental center at 734-2513.
