Pair Charged With Multiple Offenses
Police report they charged two people with multiple offenses following a motor vehicle incident at the intersection of Queen Street and Glover Avenue about 11:15 am July 3.
Police said motorist Terry Barnes, 20, of Monroe did not stop at a stop sign at that intersection, so they pulled him over to investigate.
Police noted that the vehicle Barnes was driving had a severely cracked window.
As a result of the motor vehicle incident, a vehicle search turned up a stolen credit card and multiple stolen items, police said.
Police said they arrested Barnes for alleged credit card crimes, identity theft, second degree larceny, driving with a broken vehicle window, driving with a suspended license, failure to stop at a stop sign, and driving without automotive insurance.
Police arrested passenger Mary Rose Julian, 17, of Easton for alleged credit card crimes, identity theft, and second degree larceny. The victims of the crimes included Super Stop & Shop, Best Buy, and Guitar Center, police said.
Police said they held Barnes and Julian each on $2,500 bail for July 5 appearances in Danbury Superior Court for arraignment on the charges.
