Dr Albert Koweek

WWII Army Captain

Dr Albert Koweek, 98, died in his home on Mt Merino in Hudson, N.Y., October 8.

He was the loving father of Barbara Phillips and her husband, Dr Arthur Phillips, of Newtown, and Dr Robert Koweek and his wife, Susan Koweek, of New York City; cherished grandfather of Marc and his wife Janet, Lisa and her husband Bill, Kira and her husband Alan, Sharon and her husband Sam, Jeffery and his wife Lynne, and Andrea; adoring great-grandfather of Jade, Joshua, Alex, Noah, Layla, Clara, Rebecca, Jason, and Melanie; and devoted brother of Arthur Koweek and the late Maxwell Koweek.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Clara (Silverstein) Koweek, to whom he was married for 66 years.

Born in New York City, Dr Koweek graduated from City College and Columbia with a DDS degree. He served in the Army during World War II as a captain, serving in the Philippines and New Guinea. He practiced dentistry in Hudson from 1946 to 1985.

Dr Koweek was a member and trustee of Anshe Emeth Synagogue and past president of the Columbia County Dental Society. He was also a member of the Lions Club.

He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed playing the piano.

Funeral services were held October 10 in Hudson, N.Y.
