Christ The King Lutheran Church Vacation Bible School

Christ the King Lutheran Church held its annual vacation bible school this week with the theme “Rancho Roundup,” featuring Southwestern-themed art projects, crafts, activities, and refreshments. The Rev G.J. Wismar said that this year’s evening schedule encouraged greater participation from students’ families.

The intergenerational program was led by Rebecca Cicarelli and Kelly Burger, a music teacher in the Katonah, N.Y., school system. As music director, Ms Burger led the students in songs that complemented the Biblical teachings instructed by Ms Cicarelli. Students reflected on the words of Psalm 23 as an integral part of learning about the Bible’s portrait of Jesus. Psalm 23 emphasizes the loving nature of Christ. In addition, participants adopted a special mission project in support of Emmanuel House, a Hartford-based learning center for special needs children in Argentina.

Christ the King Lutheran Church will resume its fall Sunday school program on September 7 at 9 am. For more information, contact Rev Wismar at 426-6300.
