Ambrose Honored By Aids Ministry

DANBURY — Gabriela Ambrose, direct care coordinator for the interfaith AIDS Ministry of Greater Danbury, has been nominated by the AIDS Nutrition Services Alliance (ANSA) for its annual “Award for Excellence in Service to our Communities”

The award recognizes those who have made extraordinary contributions within their communities in the effort to feed, educate, and counsel individuals and families living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Ms Ambrose, who joined IAM in 1998, has been instrumental in the development and expansion of “The Giving Pantry,” the agency’s food and personal care pantry. Through her efforts to solicit donors and assess client needs, the agency has been able to maintain a consistent year-round supply. Her responsibilities also include recruiting, training, and coordinating a large staff of volunteers, as well as participating in community outreach programs.
