Henry A. MacDonald, 96, of Sharon, previously of Trumbull, died May 3 at his sonâs home in Sandy Hook. He was the husband of the late Helen (Johnson) MacDonald. Mr MacDonald was born in Sprague, Conn., July 27, 1911, a son of William and Hattie (Dodge) MacDonald.
Mr MacDonald is survived by his son, Angus MacDonald and his wife, Joanne, of Sandy Hook; two granddaughters, Bonnie Barago and her husband, John, of Newtown, and Debbie MacDonald of California; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Rachel Barago. He was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Mary Grace Barago.
For 33 years Mr MacDonald was a machinist for Bridgeport Machine, Inc. He was a longtime resident of Trumbull and was the oldest member of the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Company. He had lived in Sharon since 1976.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, May 10, in the Grace Christian Fellowship Church, 174 Mt Pleasant Road, Newtown.
 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mary Grace Memorial Fund c/o Grace Christian Fellowship, 174 Mount Pleasant Road, Newtown CT 06470.
Arrangements were in care of Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
