An Invaluable Community Service
An Invaluable
Community Service
To the Editor,
The Newtown Lyme Disease Task Force would like to extend our congratulations to Charter Communicationsâ CommuniTyVision 21 for receiving a Beacon Award. We are so proud that Charter has received national recognition for its efforts in providing this invaluable community service program!
This award was the result of Mark Ingramâs efforts to provide an educational venue to reach our community about the growing health epidemic that Lyme represents to Newtown and other Charter access towns in Connecticut.
This production provided an educational component with Dr Bernard Raxlen, who spoke at the Fireside Inn in May of 2003. In addition, he included interviews from each of us on the task force, which added a personal snapshot of how our families have struggled with tick-borne diseases.
Thank you to Mark Ingram for your interest, compassion, and concern. We are truly grateful for all the support and assistance you have provided to us and our mission. Newtown is very fortunate to have Charter Communications as an integral connection to our community.
Sincerely,
Kim Harrison
