Update (new update as of 12:55 pm): Due to the threat of thunderstorms, the track and field championships have been postponed to Wednesday, May 22 — same location and time, Weston High at 3 pm. Later on Monday, the baseball quarterfinals were moved to Tuesday, May 21 — NHS will play at 3:30 pm. Baseball semis moved to Wednesday, and the championship game pushed to Friday (times and locations to be announced). Girls' lacrosse start time Monday changed from 5 to 4 pm.

Newtown High School’s softball, baseball, and girls’ lacrosse teams will host South-West Conference tournament games on Monday, May 20.

The softball team, seeded fourth, will host No. 5 Brookfield in a quarterfinal-round contest at 3 pm.

On the baseball diamond, the top-seeded Nighthawks will entertain No. 8 Joel Barlow of Redding, also at 3 pm.

Blue & Gold Stadium will be the site for the girls’ lacrosse semifinals as second-seeded Hawks take on No. 3 Pomperaug of Southbury at 5 o’clock. The teams will have to resolve some unfinished business after playing to a 9-9 tie during the regular slate.

The track and field teams will compete in the SWC championships at Weston High, also on Monday, at 3 pm.

The second-seeded boys’ lacrosse team will host No. 3 Weston in the semis, on Tuesday, May 21, starting at 7 pm.
