Bethel VNA Offering Flu Clinics

BETHEL — Bethel Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) has a number of flu clinics scheduled in the area between now and November 17.

The fee is $30 for a flu vaccine, and $45 for pneumonia vaccination. Bethel VNA will bill Medicare Part B and Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, ConnectiCare, Aetna, United HealthCare, and Oxford when insurance cards from any of these companies are shown.

Flu clinics are open to healthy individuals age 18 and over. Appointments are not necessary. VNA members remind the public that anyone allergic to eggs or thimerosol should not get these vaccines.

Clinics are scheduled as follows:

Saturday, October 20, at English Drug Store, 140 Greenwood Avenue in Bethel, between 10 am and 2 pm;

Thursday, October 25, at Bethel Senior Center (within the municipal center), One School Street in Bethel, between 9 am and 3 pm;

Friday, October 26, at Union Savings Bank, 24 Grassy Plain Street in Bethel, from 10 am to 3 pm;

Tuesday, October 30, at Caraluzzi’s Georgetown Market, 920 Danbury Road (Route 7) in Georgetown/Redding, from 10 am to 2 pm;

Wednesday, October 31, at Bethel Senior Center, from 9 am to 1 pm;

Thursday, November 1, at Redding Senior Center, on Route 107 in Redding, from 9 am until noon;

Friday, November 2, at Caraluzzi’s Bethel Food Market, 98 Greenwood Avenue in Bethel, 10 am until 2 pm;

Saturday, November 3, at the Bethel branch of Newtown Savings Bank, in Dolan Plaza at 211 Greenwood Avenue, from 9 to 11 am;

Tuesday, November  6, at Bethel Municipal Center, on School Street, from 9 am until 7 pm;

Thursday, November 8, at Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook, from 10 am until noon; and

Saturday, November 17, at Redding Community Center, on Route 107.
