Openings For Holcombe Hill 5K Trail Run On June 9
There are still openings for the Holcombe Hill 5K Trail Run which will benefit the Newtown Forest Association and REACH. It will take place at the Holcombe Hill Wildlife Preserve, 65 Great Hill Road, on Sunday, June 9.
The race starts at 10 am. Tickets start at $30 and are available through [naviga:u]eventbrite.com[/naviga:u].
The 5K trail run takes participants through the preserve's hiking trails. With an elevation of 830 feet above sea level, it is the highest point in town, and affords spectacular views of three counties from the 30 acres of hay fields on the property. Sprint, jog, or walk the trail.
Newtown Forest Association (NFA)is the oldest private land trust organization in Connecticut, and is dedicated to preserving forests, agricultural lands, nature preserves, watersheds, and other open space lands in Newtown for the ongoing benefit of the plants, animals, and citizens of town.
