DCC Director Emeritus Named

DANBURY — The Danbury Music Centre Board of Directors has honored Richard Price, outgoing director of the Danbury Concert Chorus (DCC), by naming him Music Director Emeritus of DCC.

Announcement of the appointment was made at the May 8, 2010, performance of Dvorak’s Stabat Mater presented by DCC and Danbury Symphony Orchestra.

Mr Price has been Music Director and Conductor of DCC since 2002. In January he announced his retirement from the post so that he might spend more time growing and running his business, Candlewood Digital, a classical recording company in New Fairfield.

Danbury Music Centre will announce next month the three guest conductors who will work with the chorus from September through May. Tina Heidrich, music director and conductor of Connecticut Master Chorale, will conduct the annual DCC performance of  Messiah in December.

DCC’s permanent director will be named in June 2011.
