Samuel Smolen

Samuel Smolen, 88, of Monroe, died April 17 at St Vincent’s  Medical Center, Bridgeport.

He is survived by a son and daughter- in law, Jan and Laura Smolen of Sandy Hook.

Mr Smolen was born in New Haven, son of the late Abraham and Lena Smolen, and was a longtime employee of the State of Connecticut. He was a member of Adath Israel Synagogue of Newtown, and Loyalty Lodge 58, 100F.

Mr Smolen is also survived by his wife, Dina (Stoller) Smolen of Monroe; another son and daughter-in law, Paul and Kathy Smolen of Glen Rock, N.J.; his brother and sister- in law, Daniel and Rose Smolen of Woodbridge; his sister and brother-in law, Estelle and Joseph Feinmark of Milford; his grandchildren, Elaine, Anne and Jonathan; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will take place on Friday, April 20, at 11 am from the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, with interment following at Loyalty Cemetery on Burroughs Road.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, or to a charity of one’s choice.
