Fundraiser For American Cancer Society

At Pub 25 September 18

Newtown resident Marc Landolfi will be joining more than 100,000 others when he runs the ING New York City Marathon in November.

Mr Landolfi has decided to combine his training for the 26.2-mile run with fundraising for the American Cancer Society (ACS).

“I chose to run for the ACS because I truly believe that with hard work and perseverance, we can work towards a world without cancer. My hope is that one person can still change the world and that when you stand up for what you believe in, you won’t stand alone,” he said.

With this in mind, Mr Landolfi is working with Pub 25 Grille in Plaza South to hold a fundraiser on Tuesday, September 18. From 4 to 8:30 pm, the restaurant will be offering $3 drink specials and 25-cent wings.

Pub 25 is at 266 South Main Street. In addition to the food and drink specials, there will also be a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. All ages are welcome.

Everyone is invited to attend and have a good time while supporting a great cause.

Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to donate can contribute by visiting DetermiNation.ACSEvents.org, and entering Marc Landolfi in the orange box (on the right side of the page) that says Support an Athlete. His fundraising is part of American Cancer Society’s DetermiNation program, a series of endurance events and training program featuring marathons and triathlons that fight cancer.

“Every little bit helps and every contribution is greatly appreciated,” said Mr Landolfi, who had raised about 50 percent of his fundraising goal as of September 11.
