Police Charge Bloomfield Man
In Internet Sex Case
Police have arrested a Bloomfield man, charging him with two offenses for allegedly using the Internet in seeking to have illegal sexual encounter with an underage person in Newtown, according to Police Chief Michael Kehoe.
On November 2, police arrested Michael Glasser, 31, of Bloomfield on charges of attempted risk of injury to a minor and attempting to entice a minor into sexual activity via a computer network.
The arrest was made on a warrant that was issued by Danbury Superior Court, according to Chief Kehoe. That warrant has been sealed by the court, he said.
Police provided few details about the circumstances of Glasserâs arrest other than to say that the âinvestigation involved communications through the use of computers.â
Police took Glasser into custody for arrest processing, after which he was released on $50,000 bail for a November 22 court arraignment.
The November 2 arrest of Glasser is the third such arrest that town police have made since August involving men from out-of-town allegedly using the Internet in seeking to have sexual contact with underage persons in Newtown. Those warrantless cases are pending in Danbury Superior Court.Â
The three criminal cases reportedly involve men who unknowingly had Internet communications with a Newtown police officer who was posing as a nonexistent minor.
