Anna G. Durgy

Anna G. Durgy, 94, wife of the late Edrick Durgy of 19 Main Street, Danbury, died September 20 in Pope John Paul II Center for Healthcare, Danbury. She was born in Bridgeport on July 4, 1911, a daughter of George and Annie (Sedlak) Mesaros. Prior to living in Danbury, Mrs Durgy was a longtime resident of Newtown.

She retired as a bookkeeper at Fairfield Hills Hospital after many years of service. Mrs Durgy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs Durgy is survived by her grandchildren, Debra Demuth-Lemke of Danbury, Lauren Jones of Washington, Ronald Durgy of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Robert Durgy of Danbury; her daughter-in-law, Dawn Gallagher of Danbury; two sisters, Agnes and Helen; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Gordon Durgy.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements by the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
