BPW To Meet Dec 4

Newtown Business and Professional Women will hold their annual holiday party and fashion show at the Inn at Newtown on Monday, December 4, at 6 pm.

The program will feature a fashion show, “Putting On The Glitz,” by The Fashion Exchange, a ladies’ consignment and gift shop at 109 South Main Street, owned by BPW member Janet Falkenthal for the past 16 years. The show will include glamorous cocktail wear accessorize with jewelry and scarves. According to Ms Falkenthal, what makes this kind of fashion so special is that there are no particular trends; women are encouraged to wear whatever suits them. The outfits can be worn to black tie events as well as weddings although the basic idea is dressing for the holidays. There will be items to purchase and a raffle of gift certificates.

Dinner reservations, $18, must be made by calling Shelley Kappauf at 426-6362 by November 24.  The menu will feature a choice lamb shanks, loganelle pasta wrapped with spinach, onion tarte with gorgonzola cheese. Salad and a dessert, coffee and tea are included. Potential members and guests are welcome.
