Pancake Supper In South Britain
SOUTH BRITAIN â On Tuesday, February 8, the Parish House of South Britain Congregational Church will be filled with the aroma of pancakes cooking on the griddle in the kitchen as the church hosts is annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper.
The meal will be prepared by the members of the church, and will feature three kinds of pancakes: blueberry, apple, and plain. Sausages, applesauce, and corned beef hash will be served with the meal, and sherbet will provide a sweet ending.
A feeling of Mardi Gras will pervade as members and friends of the church join together to enjoy the dinner, which will be served from 5 to 7 pm.
Tickets are $6 for adults and children 9 and up, $3 for children ages 5 to 8, and children under age 5 will be admitted free. Tickets will be available at the door, and the event is open to the public.
South Britain Congregational church is in Southbury on Route 172, one mile north of Exit 14 of I-84. Parking is available in the church lot across from the historic meeting house.
