Commander Kenneth M. Law of Sandy Hook has completed a 15-month assignment as
commanding officer of Helicopter Squadron Light Nine Four (HSL-94) at the
Naval Air Station in Willow Grove, Penna.
HSL-94 deploys seven detachments aboard Naval Reserve frigates, taking an
active role in peacetime contributory support for counter narcotics operations

Europe.
While under the command of Cmdr Law, the Titans of HSL-94 received the Admiral
Alfred M. Pride Award for anti-submarine warfare excellence, Gold Wrench
Aircraft Maintenance Award, Chief of Naval Operations Safety Award, and the
Administrative Excellence Award.
More than 250 people were in attendance for the change of command ceremony
held in the Titan's hangar at Naval Air Station Willow Grove on August 15.
Many friends from Newtown and Sandy Hook were present, including a former
commanding officer of HSL-94, Capt Michael C. Powers, also of Sandy Hook.
Pastor Joel Eidsness of Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel gave the
invocation and the benediction during the formal military ceremony.
Commander Law is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and has served
with the active duty and reserve Navy for 21 years. He is employed as a
corporate helicopter pilot for General Electric, and is president of Newtown
Youth Lacross. He lives in Sandy Hook with his wife, Heather, and their three
sons, Cameron, Tyler, and Carter.
Cmdr Law plans to continue his naval service recruiting young men and women
for the United States Naval Academy.
