‘Israel & You’ Discussion Planned

WATERBURY — The Waterbury and Litchfield Chapters of Hadassah will present a panel discussion called “Israel & You” on Sunday, December 3, from 2 to 4 pm, at Post University. This program is open to the community.

Panelists and their topics are: Lidia Bram, “History of Israel”; Israel Young Emissary, “Everyday Life in Israel”; and Lynn Malkoff, “Israel’s Place in the World: technical and medical advances.” There will also be a presentation on “The Importance of Israel in Jewish life,” the speaker to be announced.

Refreshments will be served. The program is free but for security purposes, preregistration is required. Reservations are due by Thursday, November 30, to 203-755-9562 (days) for exact campus location.

Begun in 1912, medicine has always been in the forefront of what Hadassah supports. The pace-setting Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO), with its world-renowned Hadassah Hospitals on Mount Scopus and En Karem in Jerusalem, is the largest research and medical institution in the Middle East and considered an island of peace, so much so that HMO was a 2005 nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize.
