A special presentation and book signing will be held at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, September 20, at the Booth Library during which authors Ava T. Albrecht, MD, and Charles Herrick, MD, will speak about their book titled 100 Questions And Answers About Depression.
The speakers will discuss associated issues such as treatment options, coping with depression, sources of support, medications, and diagnosis, and they will answer the common questions, What is depression, What causes depression, and Do I need to see a specialist?
Their 216-page book was published this year by Jones and Bartlett of Boston, and it offers help for newly diagnosed patients, friends, and families.
Dr Ava T. Albrecht is a graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago. She completed her psychiatric residency training in general psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry at the New York University School of Medicine. She currently maintains a private practice in New York City where she evaluates and treats children, adolescents, and adults, many of whom suffer from depression.
Dr Charles Herrick graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1986. He completed his residency training in general psychiatry at Tufts, New England Medical Center Hospitals and in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr Herrick presently serves as medical director for intensive psychiatric services at Danbury Hospital.
