NEW YORK CITY â Undeterred by the news that the renowned March Triple Pier Antiques would be denied a third pier due to shipping schedules, Leanne and Irene Stella changed the Stella Show Mgmt Co. show calendar to include âThe Pier Antiques Show,â February 12 and 13.
Among the 400 dealers participating in the show this February are: Praiseworthy Antiques, New York, featuring from outsider art and dolls to natural history and bug collecting.
Mantiques Modern, New York, will showcase the classics and the inspirational from the 1920s and 1930s, as well as vintage furnishings and decorations from the 1950s through the early 1970s. Look for a pair of aluminum dressers from the 1930s and a Francier Collett chrome mobile from the 1970s. They will also display vintage radio microphones now used by rock stars for unique sound and by art lovers who display them as sculpture.
Firehouse Antiques, Maryland, features an Adirondack Gothic settee and a life size cowboy mannequin and many other items.
Bizarre Bazaar, Ltd, New York, will arrive with Art Deco, automobilia, aviation, industrial designs and travel related objects from the Twentieth Century.
Bradford House Antiques, Connecticut, is bringing a three piece tea set, circa 1825, made with silver coins taken from a pirate hoard captured by Captain Freeman C. Bassett, along with other objects including an exquisite fleur-de-lis pin, circa 1880.
Additionally Arcadia Antiques of England will have splendid antique jewelry and Michele Fox, New York, is known for her exquisite selection of antique quilts, old ticking and kitchen linens.
The Pier Antiques Show will be held on Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 90 and 92, 50th to 55th streets and Twelfth Avenue. Show hours are Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday, 11 am to 6 pm. HUNTINGTON, N.Y. â Flamingo Promotions announces their annual Antiques At The Armory Show, Sunday, January 9, at the New York State Armory, with over 50 exhibitors from throughout the Northeast presenting a wide array of antiques, vintage collectibles, decorative objects and art.
Featured New York presenters include Florence Campbell, Flushing, will offer American art pottery and glass; Edna McLart, Babylon, will exhibit Roseville, Lenox, yellowware, and metalware; C.J. Brown, Staten Island, will offer vintage linens and textiles; Paula Cohen, Westhampton, will display cookie jars and wall pockets; Steve Fishback, Great Neck, with antique and vintage jewelry; Charlie and Nellie Huttenen, Northport, have vintage postcards and ephemera; Eunice and Hank Thomas, Setauket, will offer country and primitive furnishings and tobacco tins; and Ron Katzberg, Dix Hills, will offer antiquarian books and ephemera.
Mark Walker, North Branford, Conn., will bring Victorian and Edwardian furniture; and Don Lutz and Lydia Gadman of Newburyport, Mass., will show unique art assemblages, furniture and decorative accessories.
These and many other dealers in Eighteenth, Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century pottery, porcelain and glassware; Victorian and country furnishings; Americana and primitives; antique dolls and toys; Italian art glass; estate and antique jewelry; Art Nouveau and Art Deco lighting; American and European art glass; and collectibles will be found at the show.
A special feature will be antiques appraisals by the host of âAntique Show and Sell,â John Bruno, from 1 to 3 pm, at $5 per item.
