Fraser Woods Montessori School Graduation

By Eliza Hallabeck

The Fraser Woods Montessori School eighth grade Class of 2012 heard advice, future predictions, and memories during a graduation commencement ceremony held Tuesday, June 12, at the Newtown Meeting House.

Fraser Woods Montessori School is a toddler through eighth grade Montessori school. It was founded in 1968 as Newtown Montessori School and expanded in 2001 to include a middle school. This is the eleventh class to graduate from the eighth grade program.

The 14 graduates from this year’s class all spoke during the commencement ceremony, but first school teachers reflected on their time with the students. Teachers Rebecca Kaplan, Wendy Musk, and Steve Epstein all spoke during the ceremony.

The school’s chorus also began the event with a traditional song at Fraser Woods Montessori School’s graduation ceremonies, “Simple Gifts.”

This year’s graduates were Megan Hickey, Tucker Kistner, Mai LeMeur, Adam Padilla, Elizabeth Sankey, Zachary Mangold, Priya Basu, Leah Nashel, Andrew Waltzer, Jesse Kendler, Priyanka Agadi, James Stiles, Cole Rogalin, and William Mitchell.

Diplomas were awarded by Head of  School Myriam Woods and Board President Peter Rogalin during the ceremony.
