Vegetarian Cooking For Teens
Vegetarian Cooking For Teens
WATERBURY â Teen vegetarians have a place to get cooking this summer. âMore than Just a Veggie Burger â Teens Cook Vegetarian!,â led by instructor Maureen Carleton from Woodbury, is a week-long class to be held at Chase Collegiate this summer.
Ms Carleton, a vegetarian and mother of three, says teens who are choosing not to eat meat need guidance and support.
Students will learn to prepare a quick meat-free meal when everyone else is eating meat off the barbecue grill this summer. Ms Carleton will also offer ideas about what to bring to friendâs houses when youâre not sure what theyâll offer to eat, help create the family grocery list so there is always something vegetarian-friendly around the house, and discuss how to focus healthy eating around the types of vegetarian foods each student you prefers.
The class will meet Monday through Friday, July 7-18, from 9 am until noon each day. Cost is $345 per student.
Registration forms can be found at ChaseCollegiate.org. Click on Summer At Chase, and then on Specialty Camps. Programs take place on the Chase Collegiate School campus, 565 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.
