Danbury AOH Fundraiser To Precede St Patrick’s Day Parade

DANBURY — This is an exciting year for the Greater Danbury St Patrick’s Day celebration. With the purchase of a new building on Lake Avenue and the creation of the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center, the Ancient Order of Hibernians are continue to foster awareness of the Irish culture in the area. What better time to celebrate this awareness than with the Greater Danbury St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

This year’s festivities will kick off with a parade fundraiser at Molly Darcy’s Irish Pub on Mill Plain Road on Sunday, February 24, from 2 to 6 pm. There will be live music and an appetizer buffet.

Admission fee is $15, and funds raised will be used to support the parade.

The St Patrick’s Day Parade itself is scheduled for Sunday, March 16, with step off time from Rogers Park on Main Street in Danbury at 2 pm.

The celebration will continue after the parade at the AOH Hall at 161 Main Street with corned beef dinners, sandwiches and more. For additional information about AOH or any of these events call 748-7701.
