DUI Charge
Police report that at about 1:39 am on March 9, they received a complaint concerning an apparently intoxicated man who was at the Blue Colony Diner at 66 Church Hill Road, so they went to there to investigate.
Police said that after they arrived at the diner, the complainant informed them that the man had driven to a gas station next door at 64 Church Hill Road. Police said they then located Michael Chandler, 35, of 18 Whippoorwill Hill Road inside his vehicle and they investigated.
Chandler was charged with driving under the influence and with driving without a license, police said. Chandler was held on $200 bail for arraignment that day in Danbury Superior Court, according to police.
Vandalism
About 2:42 pm on March 12, police were dispatched to Newtown Skate Park at Dickinson Park on a report that a person was placing graffiti there, police said.
After investigating, police charged Paul DiGrazia, 37, of Brookfield with third-degree criminal mischief. DiGrazia was released on a written promise to appear in court on March 27, police said.
Interstate Rock
State police report that motorist Efrain Romero, 48, of Seymour was driving a 2012 BMW 1-series auto westward on Interstate 84, east of Exit 10, about 6:50 am on March 5, when a rock fell off a westbound 1995 Ford F-250 truck driven by Roger Hernandez, 36, of Southbury.
That falling rock then struck the BMWâs windshield, state police said. There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
Highway Collision
State police report that motorist Larry James, 60, of Woodbury was driving a 2006 Honda Pilot SUV westward on Interstate 84, near Exit 9, about 8:45 am on March 5, when traffic slowed, after which a westbound 2004 Honda Civic driven by Anthony Howard, 30, of Atlanta, Ga., struck the rear end of the Pilot.
There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
I-84 Mishap
A two-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 84 in Hawleyville about 9:35 am on March 5, state police report.
State police said that motorist Desiree Lee, 38, of 5 Arthurâs Court was driving a 2008 Toyota Highlander SUV westward on I-84 near Exit 9, when traffic slowed and the Toyota was struck from behind by a westbound 1998 Ford Escort driven by Hailey McCoy, 18, of 7 Pilgrim Lane.
There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
Mazda Hits Rails
Motorist Kevin Tieman, 21, of Milford was driving a 2010 Mazda 3 auto eastward on Interstate 84 in the left lane, about two miles west of Exit 10, when he entered a sweeping right curve in the road, but went straight and drifted off the left side of the road, striking some metal-beam guardrailing on the highway median at about 4 am on March 4, state police said.
Tieman was not injured. State police said they issued him an infraction for failure to maintain the travel lane.
Off-Ramp
At about 10:18 pm on March 2, motorist Collin Shaw, 44, of 38 Lakeview Terrace, who was driving a 1999 Subaru Forester, stopped at the end of the right lane on Interstate 84âs Exit 11 off-ramp, where a red traffic signal was flashing, state police report.
Motorist Benedict Tran, 20, of Shelton, who was driving a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta, then struck the rear end of the Subaru, according to state police.
There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
DUI Charge
Police said that they stopped motorist Christie Zingoni, 24, of 3 Saddle Ridge Road at about 2:10 am on March 10 near 62 Church Hill Road to investigate.
Police said they charged Zingoni with driving under the influence and with following too closely. Zingoni was released on $100 bail for a March 27 court appearance, according to police.
South Main Accident
Motorist Patrice Heinzer, 56, of 16 Hitfield Road, who was driving a 2007 Toyota Highlander SUV at about 6:38 pm on March 9, was waiting in a left-turn-only lane on southbound South Main Street at its intersection with Mile Hill Road, when the Toyota was struck from behind by southbound motorist Heather Allen Tracy, 27, of Southbury, who was driving a 2011 Honda CRV SUV, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Tracy for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Intersection
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Boggs Hill Road and Mt Nebo Road about 10:12 am on March 3.
The accident involved motorist Caterina Staack, 20, of 15 Ox Hill Road, who was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer SUV, and motorist Christopher Brock, 49, of 6 Arthurâs Court, who was driving a 2010 BMW 528-I sedan, police said.
There were no injuries. Police report Staack received an infraction for failure to obey a stop sign.
Skate Park
Police report that on March 9, they arrested a youth on a warrant, lodging a charge of third-degree criminal mischief in connection with vandalism that the youth allegedly committed at Newtown Skate Park at Dickinson Park off Brushy Hill Road in March 2011.
Police released the youth on $500 bail for an upcoming appearance in Danbury Youthful Offender Court.
Because the youth was under age 18 when the incident occurred, his/her identity is shielded from disclosure by state law.
Harassment
After receiving a complaint on the afternoon of March 12 concerning an allegedly harassing telephone call, police investigated the claim.
Later that day, Donald Kwet, 72, of Trumbull turned himself over to police at the police station and was charged with violation of a protective order, police said.
After processing, police released Kwet on $100 bail for a March 22 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Boy Arrested
Police said that they received a report about 9:24 pm on March 7 involving an incident that occurred on Huntingtown Road.
After investigating the unspecified incident, police charged a 15-year-old boy with disorderly conduct. The boy was released on a written promise to appear in court on March 19. Because the person arrested is under age 18, his identity is shielded from disclosure by state law.

Moving Violations
About 11:24 am on March 11, police stopped motorist Jose Carvalheiro, 44, of Danbury to investigate near 53 Riverside Road.
Police charged Carvalheiro with driving with a suspended license and with failure to display a marker plate. Carvalheiro was released on $100 bail for a March 20 court appearance, police said.
DUI Warrant
After learning that police held an arrest warrant, Alex Lamere, 20, of Brookfield surrendered to police at the police station about 6 pm on March 13 and was charged with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right, police report.
The charges stem from an accident that occurred about 3:45 am last December 18 in which Lamere was driving a 1992 Buick sedan southward on Tower Road and then went through a stop sign at that streetâs intersection with Obtuse Road, after which the auto struck a tree near 8 Obtuse Road.
Firefighters extricated Lamere from the crashed auto. Lamere and two passengers were then transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Following arrest processing on March 13, police released Lamere on $100 bail for a March 27 court appearance.
Sugar Street
Police report that driver Christopher Tessman, 32, of Torrington was driving a box truck eastward on Sugar Street, near Sugar Hill Road, at about 1:30 pm on March 7, when the box truck struck the exterior rear-view mirror of a parked tree-service truck, as well as some adjacent traffic cones.
There were no injuries. Tessman received an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions, police said.
