A Successful Food Drive

To the Editor

Thanks to all who made our food drive a huge success.

Richard Marcuccio, manager of Stop & Shop, allowed the Newtown Woman’s Club GFWC Inc to hold our annual food drive there and generously contributed to it.

Chief Michael Kehoe approved our use of a police car.

Officer Maryhelen McCarthy originated the idea of filling a police car with groceries.

Officer Steven Santucci was our “go to guy” and helped us fill the police car with turkeys.

The Woman’s Club volunteers gave their time and donations.

Last, but most important, thank you to all the Stop & Shop customers who contributed so very generously and made our food drive an overwhelming success.
