Youth Basketball Highlights From The Hardwood
Youth basketball game results from this past week are as follows:
Grade 5
Lightning 20, Destiny 12: Stephen Moccio had 6 points and Joey Conrad, Michael Liberante, and RH Clark all played well in the win. Owen McInerney led Destiny with 6 points. Thomas Leuci, Dylan Kretz, and Thomas Addessi all had strong performances.
March Madness 27, Green Monsters 21: Chad Azzarito led the scorers with 9 points in the win. Chris Anesi, Jordan Klein, and Elliot Bennett all played well for March Madness. Henry Primaver had 4 points and Marc Lasorda, Gino Pagliaro, and Austin Sousa all had solid efforts for Green Monsters.
Blue Devils 19, Blues Brothers 12: Alex Dunleavy had 6 points and Braden Marcinek and Nick Lansing played well in the win. Robert Lombardo had 4 points and Peter Clifford and Bradley Capeci also played well for Blues Brothers.
Dawgs 24, Tigers 14: Tommy Kitzmiller , Matt Kretz, and Ben Dieckman all had 6 points, and Mitch Long and Peter DeBona played well in the win. Austin Kasbarian led the Tigers with 4 points. Bryce Griffen, Will Corbett, and Greg Trimarchi all played well.

Grade 6
Celtics 38, Magic 32: James Carney led the Celtics with 12 points with Max Weber leading the team with assists. James Barry led the team in rebounds and got great support on the defensive end from Jake Oliger. Matt Davis helped keep the game close by adding 13 points to lead the Magic with key assists from Nick Genovese. Hunter Booker led the defensive charge for the team with Nick Samuelson pulling down eight rebounds.
Huskies 32, Thunder 31: Gordon Walsh and Matt Stewart combined with eight points each to lead the offense for the Huskies. Nick Bourgeois added the final two points with less than a second on the clock to seal the win for the Huskies. Connor Flint lead the team in rebounds, with Charlie Fletcher leading the defense. Christian Thanasoulis led the Thunder with nine points with Bryan Kiley and Thomas Gavel each adding eight points. Patrick Briscoe and Trevor Gaines combined for some solid defense for the Thunder.
Hurricanes 38, Wolfpack 29: James Accousti and Colin Patrick led the Hurricanesâ scorers with 12 points each, with key assists from Myers, McCarthy and Duffy. Dylan Solano, David Anderson and Jackson Cryder lead the defense in steals with Masser and Draper pulling down key rebounds. Sam Czel led the Wolfpack offense with 13 points and Robert Katrinak led the team with assists. James Buck and Boris Kudlac, âThe Twin Towers,â anchored the defense with Kistner, Drap, McCarthy and Craig combining for key turnovers.
Grades 7â8
Heat 51, Thunder 26: For the Heat, Jeff Peterson and Conrad Morris combined for 30 points. Matt white had 10 rebounds and Brad Kretz played a strong all around game. For the Thunder, Grant Ricketts lead the scoring with 13 points and Doug Miller played great defense.
Magic 34, Jazz 29: For the Magic, Riley Cross led the scoring with 19 points, Garrison Buzzanca had four assists and six points, Brian Raab had four steals and Darryl Silverlieb had five rebounds. For the Jazz, Otto Kerler had 10 points, Austin Raftery had two assists and Harry Depuy had three steals and six rebounds.
Wolfpack 25, Jazz 22: Virgil Procaccini led the scoring for the Wolfpack with 11 points, and good play was contributed by Jason Farrari, Joey Carrino and Sam Adams. For the Jazz, Otto Kerler scored six points, Jack Corbett had four assists and Sawyer Conrad had two steals.
Celtics 53, Huskies 41: For the Celtics, Albert Dean led the scoring with 14 points, Jon Sherman had six assists and John Schwartz had four steals.
For the Huskies Bryce Decker and Chris Caroll had 10 point each, Nadimal Haque had six points and six rebounds and Owen Gaston had three steals.
Hammerheads 31, Eagles 17: For the Hammerheads, Mike Davenport and Danny Cummings had six points each, Jeremy Fellin had four assists, Andy DeWolfe had one steal and Jordan Salvesen had six rebounds. For the Eagles, Dave Corsi had six points, and strong games were turned in by Zach Bergeron Cal Brock and Sean Kemsley.
Nuggets 38, Vipers 33: For the Nuggets, Wes Morlock led the scoring with 16 points; Matt Janco had seven assists, Andrew Cragin had four steals and CJ Dunn had nine rebounds. For the Vipers, Stephen Walsh had 13 points and Shay DeMarche had 11 points.
Cavs 39, X-Men 26: For the Cavs, Nick Norberg led the scoring with 17 points, Drew Tarantino had two assists, Matt Wood and Rich LaPac played well. For the X-Men, Tom Floros had 11 points; Matt Berra, Brennan OâSullivan and David Csordas played well.
Bricklayers 45, Wildcats 32: Connor Miller and Patrick Afryie combined for 29 points for the Bricklayers, Brenton Scott had seven assists and Nate Steinbrey had three steals. For the Wildcats, Patrick Berger and Patrick Rowley combined for 23 points, good defense was turned in by Mitchell Godwin and Bobby Silver.
Runnin Rebels 46, Wizards 26: For the Runnin Rebels the scoring was led by Jimmy Leidlein with 30 points, Jacob Moore had four assists Dom Scarangella had three steals and Mason Galanis had eight rebounds. For the Wizards Nick Swenson had eight points, Nate Dowd had five assists, Deegan Beauchemin had four steals and Tommy Rahr had seven rebounds.
