Intensive Outpatient Program Launched For Mood Disorders
WESTPORT â A new intensive outpatient program for persons suffering from mood disorders is now offered at Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services, 47 Long Lots Road, according to Debra K. Iversen, LCSW, director of outpatient services.
The program meets from 12:45 to 2:35 pm, Monday through Friday. Services include individual, family, and group psychotherapy, with medication management provided, if necessary.
Maureen Gascoyne, LPC, Jennie Lobasso, LCSW, and Lisa Goldenberg, LCSW, will lead various sessions, which include:
Daily Mood Charting informs patients about mood fluctuations relative to events and medication changes, and serves as a tool to help physician, patient, and therapist undertake effective treatment planning.
Mood Management Techniques identifies mood alteration strategies, including diet, exercise, sleep habits, schedules, music, etc.
Cognitive Coping Strategies helps patients rethink behavior, and learn how to supplant unhelpful behavior with positive behavior.
Family Issues provides patients an opportunity to explore the interplay between their mood disorders and the family system.
