Newtown High School's girls' volleyball team beat visiting Kolbe Cathedral of Bridgeport 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-7) on September 27. The Nighthawks improved to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in South-West Conference play.

Zoe Beals had six aces and three kills, Kim Buttery had five aces and 16 assists, and Jackie Moccio logged five aces.

The Nighthawks will visit Woodstock Academy on Friday, September 29, at 4:30 pm, and will return home to take on New Fairfield on Monday, October 2, starting at 6:30 pm.
