Once Upon A Brick

BROOKFIELD CENTER — Jack Pawloski, an Earth science teacher at Schaghticoke Middle School in Kent for over 33 years, will offer a lecture entitled “Once Upon a Brick” at Brookfield Museum and Historical Society on Wednesday, July 19, at 7:30 pm.

His lecture will cover the history of bricks made in Connecticut from the mid 1700s.

Mr Pawloski, who is also an expert on Indian artifacts and founder of the Museum of Mining and Mineral Services in Kent, has over the years participated in numerous archeological digs with the northeast region of Connecticut.

Mr Pawloski is one of more than 10,000 antique brick collectors in America today. His program will demonstrate, among other points of interest, how such bricks are instrumental in helping archaeologists identify the age of building and structure.

Admission is free and refreshments will be served after the presentation. The museum is at the junction of Routes 25 and 133. For more information on this and other planned activities of the Brookfield Museum and Historical society visit BrookfieldCTHistory.org or call 740-8140.
