Stop The Delays

To the Editor:

I was stunned after reading last week’s Bee article, “Questions Remain Regarding Animal Control Officer’s Job,” in which we learned that Carolee Mason, after completing two months of training that was supposed to help her do her job better, was offered a demotion by her supervisors before even being given a chance to go back to her job.

A demotion? This is not only extremely insulting and disrespectful to a woman who has earned the right to have her job back, but it also goes against the decision handed down by the Board of Selectman in June: reinstate Carolee Mason as Newtown’s animal control officer after training.

The people of Newtown want Carolee Mason back at her job as animal control officer. It’s time to stop the delays and put her there.
