Police chased a motorist for 30 miles through four towns early in the morning

Wednesday. They finally caught up with him under a tree on Queen Street in

Newtown.

Newtown police said that Trumbull, Monroe and Newtown police became involved

in a pursuit of motorist James Landino, 41, of Ansonia through Bridgeport,

Trumbull, Monroe and Newtown early on the morning of July 22.

Landino lost control of his vehicle on Queen Street where he hit a tree,

police said.

The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Landino to St Vincent's

Medical Center in Bridgeport for treatment.

Trumbull and Monroe police filed multiple charges against Landino.

Newtown police charged Landino with engaging police in pursuit, reckless

operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended

license.

Landino is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court August 4 to answer
