Edward A. Lajoie, 73, died suddenly August 10, in Carmel, N.Y. Mr Lajoie was born in White Plains, N.Y., August 23, 1935, to Jenni (Scopoletti) and Edward Lajoie.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Pomponio), of more than 53 years; and three children including his loving son, Vincent and his wife, Lynn of Newtown. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Bruno. Mr Lajoie is also survived by his 11 cherished grandchildren and a sister.
Mr Lajoie worked as director of facilities for the Rockland School District in Rockland County, and in school systems throughout New York State. In his spare time he loved to bowl, work on oil paintings, and was involved in many organizations, including the Lions Club and coaching for Brewster Little League.
He was a member of St Lawrence OâToole, where he served on the board for the new church. He loved being around his family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Mass of Christian of Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 15, at 11 am at St Lawrence OâToole Church in Brewster, N.Y. He will be brought to his final resting place at the St Lawrence OâToole Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, August 14.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Mr Lajoieâs name be sent to St Lawrence OâToole Church, 31 Prospect Street, Brewster NY 10509, attn: Fr McKeon.
