Dorothy Naum Csordas
Dorothy Naum Csordas, 79, of Monroe, formerly of Bridgeport, devoted wife of 53 years to the late Stephen J. Csordas, died peacefully with her family by her side May 13 at Cambridge Manor, Fairfield.
Born in Bridgeport on May 17, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ilrakli and Angelina Timko Naum. A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, Dorothy moved to Monroe approximately one year ago.
Survivors include her son and daughter, Stephen Csordas and his wife Cynthia of Newtown, and Sharon Buzi and her husband Gregory of Monroe; four grandchildren, Gregory, Daniel, and Christopher Buzi and David Csordas.
A devoted and religious person, she was active in the Orthodox Church, having been a past president and office holder in Teuta Society of St George Church, as well as a past president and office holder of the Orthodox Womenâs Council of Bridgeport. She received special recognition along with her husband by the Metropolitan Theodosius of the Orthodox Church of North America for their dedicated services to the hospitalized and shut-ins of St George Albanian Church. This special certificate of recognition âGramottaâ was humbly received by both her and her husband. A retired sales clerk for D.M. Readâs, she had worked there for more than 15 years.
Funeral services were held on May 15 in St George Albanian Orthodox Church with the Archpriest Sergei Bouteneff officiating. Interment was in St Michaelâs Cemetery, Stratford.
