A Karate Kick-Off The School Year

To the Editor:

Neither tornadoes nor thunderstorms could bully the more than 70 children at Steve DeMasco’s Shaolin Studios of Newtown into not having a Kung Fu fun time at Saturday’s back-to-school party.

The participants held their horse stance and karate chopped the afternoon away while breaking boards, bouncing in the inflatable Dojo, and enjoying complimentary hot dogs, snow cones and cotton candy.  Many thanks to Shaolin Studio’s Chief Instructor Chris Schaefer, Instructor Zach Johnson, studio staff, parents and volunteers for making this event such a successful karate kick off to the new school year!
