How Long In Newtown: I moved my workshop to Newtown three years ago from Southbury. I grew up in Trumbull but I lived in Newtown from 1992 to 1995, first in Sandy Hook Center and later on Route 34 near Zoar Road, until I got married and moved to Watertown.
Family: My wife Beverly is a certified nurse assistant (CNA). We have three cats ââ Oreo, Krazy, and Mama ââ all strays that found their way to our house.
Hobbies: Fishing and flea markets. I like fresh water fly-fishing. I caught a 30-pound salmon in the Salmon River off Lake Ontario and had it mounted. I go to flea markets to find furniture, old tools, and, very rarely, good books on furniture restoration.
Favorite Books and Movies: I read about furniture, of course. Taunton Press has a lot of good books on the subject. I like books about fly-fishing and I also like Steven King novels. I donât watch many movies because I donât have the time.

Biggest Change Iâve Seen In Newtown: The developments. There has been a lot of building since I lived in Sandy Hook, but in just the three years Iâve been here [on Huntingtown Road] entire new streets like Pine Tree Hill have gone in nearby.
Personal Philosophy: I try to take life one day at a time. I have this motto posted in my workshop: âI donât know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.â I want to do everything perfectly, but everyone wants their stuff done yesterday. To do it right takes time.
