National Honor Society Members Installed
The National Honor Society dedicated officers and installed new members at a
ceremony held last November 10, 1998 in the lecture hall at the Newtown High
School.
Current members joined inductees to renew the honor society pledge to uphold
the qualities of a National Honor Society member.
The student officers are: Dan Sobo, president; Sharon McNulty, vice president;
Lindsay Korotash, secretary; Ashwini Srikantiah, treasurer.
New inductees are Tabatha Cannata, Christian Petre, Heather Leja, and Michael
Ragusa.
To be eligible for selection to the National Honor Society, a student must
have completed at least five semesters of high school course work and must
maintain an average of 88 percent as well as demonstrate the qualities of good
character, leadership and service to the community and the school. Students
are selected twice a year, in the fall and in the spring.
Win Brickmeier serves as advisor to the group. A Faculty Advisory Council of
five members -- Kerry Baldwin, Robert Dilzer, Kathleen Madzula, Joanne
Johnson, and Marcia Sandner -- assists Win Brickmeier.
