Albert J. Maruca

Avid Woodworker And Pianist Ran Four Maples Christmas Tree Farm

Albert J. Maruca, 82, of Walnut Tree Hill Road, Sandy Hook, died December 2 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Norwalk on August 23, 1923, a son of Albert and Agatha Maruca, and was raised and educated in Norwalk. He served in the US Air Force during World War II. Mr Maruca was a repairman for Sears for many years and was a resident of Newtown since 1970.

Mr Maruca is survived by his son, Gary Maruca of Sandy Hook; and by five nephews, Richard and Robert Maruca, Vincent Romano, and Joe and Jeffrey McClure; and a niece, Sharon McClure.

Following retirement from Sears, Mr Maruca ran his much loved Four Maples Christmas Tree Farm where he loved to work outdoors with his beloved black lab, Missy. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed playing the piano. He was admired and will be missed by his many neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were held December 6 in the Honan Funeral Home, Newtown. Interment followed in Newtown Village Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mr Maruca may be made to the Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury, CT 06810.
